Makoop Lake Lodge is located about 230 miles NNW of Sioux Lookout, Ontario Canada, well beyond the end of the road, accessible only by float plane or over the treacherous ice road in the winter months when staple supplies are delivered for the next season. This remote fishing camp was built about 14 years ago on Makoop Lake, a 28,000 acre mostly unexplored body of water. There are no other camps on the lake. It has perfect habitat for trophy northern pike, known as Esox Lucius or the Water Wolf of Makoop, along with a huge population of hungry walleye. A relatively shallow lake with hundreds of rocky points and islands make for a fishing paradise, easy to navigate. It is where big fish live!
